What is Amazon Prime Day?
If this is your first time, Prime Day is Amazon’s fake holiday designed primarily to sell Prime memberships. Despite what the name suggests, it’s actually a 48-hour sale event. Usually the 2-day sale marathon is held in the summer, but in 2020 it was pushed back to October due to the pandemic which led to significant stock shortages in almost all product categories. This year, Amazon announced an increase in Prime’s annual membership fees, from $120 to $140; and monthly membership fees increase from $13 to $15.
